More Birthday

We've had quite a full day celebrating.

After lunch we went out to the farm to see the chickens and goats, but mostly just to play in the mud!

"Mud cake" with worms and carrots.

It was really yummy!

Patrick needed almost as much practice driving the wheelbarrow as he did on the tricycle.

Happy 3rd Birthday Patrick!

Patrick even got some sunshine for his birthday! We will open more presents as the day goes on...

Package arrived....

The package arrived but will wait to open until tomorrow. Peter wanted a big SC sweet potato so he got this 8 pounder from Grammy and Grandpa's garden.

Pretzels

Peter and I made our first ever attempt at pretzels and they turned out really well – they were devoured almost immediately!

Yard & Garden

Just the latest on our yard...

We filled in the rest of the front yard and side yard with dirt and manure, then planted a cover crop of crimson clover and rye. My wedding band is somewhere in there... oops!

I've got some fall / winter veggies going in the garden - spinach, cabbage, garlic, kale, etc.

Filled in the back yard same as the front.

My latest gardening experiment - propagation by rooting clippings. So far, so good. Rosemary, lavender, fuchsia, and daphne.

Pawl and the Portland Pumpkin Patch

We visited Pawl last week, and went to a farm for our October tradition. It started off pretty windy and raining, but cleared up while we were there. So we started in the barn with the animals, then ate lunch under a tent.

Ah, sunshine and hay bales!

There was a tunnel under the hay.

After the farm, we all went out to eat. Patrick ate all of Pawl's onions for him. :)

Silly Kids

I let Mathew feed himself oatmeal. When he was done, he fingerpainted with it.

Grandpa, that tooth is still hanging on, waiting for you to get here!!!

Daddy brought a big salamander home, so we watched him for a day or two and then let him go.
