Biking the Bridge

Peter and I rode across the Tacoma Narrows Bridge yesterday.  Then I let him talk me into riding down a really big hill to the water.  Of course, we had to ride back up that big hill, but it was worth it, and he was quite the trooper.   It was about 6 miles round trip, with a lot of elevation.  He fell asleep in about two minutes last night and got up with sore legs today, asking when we could go again!

Trying New Things

We've been trying lots of new things this summer!  Jacob is enjoying a variety of new foods, and Patrick is a very helpful big brother.

Peter decided that he likes kimchi now, which is very disappointing because it means that I have to share.  :(

We got a grow-your-own mushroom kit and...
.... this is what it looked like 5 days later.  Amazing!  Now I'm hooked and have about 5 gallons of coffee grounds inoculated with mushroom spawn.  More to follow on that one!

Jacob desperately wants to chase his brothers around, but he hasn't quite got it figured out yet.

I planted peas in the rain garden this spring, and they are very yummy!  We also put some blueberry bushes in there.  The rest of the garden is suffering somewhat from neglect.

We are using our break from school to practice some new "jobs" around the house.  While these two were learning to clean the bathroom...

... Jacob was getting a lesson on the roller blades.

And of course, toes are always a fun thing to discover!
