Merry Christmas!

Peter got a camera for Christmas and captured much of the silliness of the day, along with all sorts of random things.  So here's a small sample of his latest ventures in photography...

Mathew enjoying his new bean bag (made of Mat's old jeans)
The boys really enjoyed this spinning top.  We didn't discover that there were 3 of them until the next day, after they had figured out how to share this one.
"Wanna take my picture and try out my new camera?"
Hello Aunt Emily!!!
Good thing I made the bean bag big enough for three boys!
Patrick likes his green bandanna.
New cowboy duds
Hooray!
An interesting (and VERY durable) money bank, "for the family of Billy."
It just wouldn't be Christmas without a good old-fashioned gunfight.
Well, several gunfights.
Did I mention the gunfights?
We started the day after Christmas by shooting squirrels instead of each other.

Mudslinging

We went outside to play in the rain today, and this is where the boys ended up. I have to admit that they get it honestly, all but the part where Patrick came into the house pitifully crying, "My pants are all dirty!" And Peter cried, "Mathew threw mud on me!" And Mathew just cried and cried until I put him in a warm bath. Am I a terrible mother to laugh at all that?

Peter found a good use for all those clothes and diapers that Jacob has already outgrown (he weighed in at 14'10" this week). Maybe it's time to teach Pete to change diapers for real! Jacob just tried not to get squished in all the fun.

Neither rain, nor cold, nor dark of night...

... nor puking kids ... nor tangled wires ... nor pressing project deadlines ...

... shall keep us from a Christmas tree!

The mud puddles were a lot of fun!

And we couldn't pass up a chance to throw rocks in the water.

Mathew sure has had a lot of fun with the strings of lights.

This afternoon Peter and Patrick entertained themselves for over an hour making nests (out of egg cartons) for these little birds.

And Peter took these beautiful pictures of Jacob. :)

Cool Dudes

Peter got hold of the camera in the car yesterday. I'll spare you the 50 pictures of road, cars, trees, sky, etc.

This is my son, voluntarily reading the dictionary on Saturday morning. And to think that I contented myself with cartoons as a kid!

I made a second attempt at Christmas pictures this morning...

One month

Jacob was a month old last week, so I took pictures but didn't manage to get them posted. He's growing well (getting chunky) and settling into a good routine. We've even gotten a few dimpled smiles!

Peter and Patrick have really enjoyed playing in the snow over the last two days. Patrick brought in this "snack" yesterday, and he and Mathew enjoyed about 30 minutes of good clean fun.
