Pacific Beach

The weatherman was wrong, so we enjoyed 60 degree sun instead of 40 degree rain on Tuesday.
I dug a seat for Jacob and he enjoyed watching everyone else dig and splash, at least for a little while.
Peter was very excited to fly a kite.  He ran back and forth on the beach until I was tired.  I don't think it ever sank in that he could stand still and let the wind hold the kite up.
Digging, digging, and more digging...
The waves came in a long way on this flat beach.
Patrick was terrified of the waves, but finally had fun near a calm, predictable stream.
Mathew is completely undeterred by cold water.
Beach treasures - a feather and a stick.

Happy Days

On Monday, Patrick decided that he didn't need training wheels anymore.  So we took them off, gave him a push, and away he went!  Fortunately Peter was willing to run with him down the sidewalk and give him another push at the turnaround.
But Peter got tired after a long time running back and forth.  And it was a nice sunny day to lay in the grass.
Jacob enjoyed the sink for the first time yesterday while I cooked dinner.  His brothers really enjoyed him enjoying the sink, and the kitchen floor got mopped.

Funny Little Boys

Jacob loves to hold onto his feet... so much that he fell asleep that way.
Jacob's handy, portable playpen.  Maybe a little too portable, since he can quickly disappear when Mathew decides to drag him around the house.
That's a pretty good hand, Grammy!
Happy Birthday Grandpa!  We went for one BIG candle instead of setting the house on fire with all those little ones.  And of course we had to sing loudly and obnoxiously.
Grandpa was thrilled to get lots of painted rocks for his collection.  Especially since he had to carry them home on the airplane.  The security folks didn't think it was such a good idea.
Mathew tried out the playpen too.
Patrick practicing his name.  He's thrilled that there's a man at church with his name, so he writes lots of names and pictures for him.
Jacob's just about mastered sitting up by himself.

Happy Birthday Peter

We braved the cold to go to the Daffodil Parade.  The boys weren't quite sure what to make of it.
Peter wanted mud cake, so I tried to get all the slugs and worms out of it before I "planted" the carrots.
Jacob really likes the light-up spider, but he didn't get to play with it very long because the others really like it too.
Mathew really likes the singing card.  Of course, he likes anything that makes obnoxious noise!

April Fools

Patrick took a little while to get dressed because his underwear was sewn shut.  Peter's was frozen solid, and Grandpa's had shrunk to Peter size!
No telling what might happen when you open a door - Patrick got ping pong balls dumped on him, and Mathew had a big black spider descend to eye level.
Poor Peter missed out on chocolate.  But he and I had the best trick of the day when we put brown paper on the pizza between the dough and the sauce.
