Peter, Patrick, and I tilled the garden this morning and planted some beans. They especially enjoyed the nice soft dirt with their bare feet. It was a balmy 58 degrees or so.

Happy Birthday Peter!
Peter started his birthday with a special blueberry pancake.
Then we went downtown and walked across the Chihully bridge, but the kids were really excited to be standing right over the trains. These engines conveniently stopped right underneath us for a while. Then we went over to Union Station for lunch and rode the light rail for a while.
Everyone helped make birthday cake, since there were lots of beaters to be licked.
Peter requested angel food cake with strawberries and whipped cream. It was VERY good!
He was excited beyond words over the roller blades.
Patrick and Mathew even found something in the box for them. So nice of Grandma to include all those packing materials that needed to be popped.
Books and hats are always a big hit!
And Mathew had a try with the roller blades.
It was a good day!

Good Pickin'
Grammy and Grandpa arrived yesterday afternoon. Grandpa is already busy teaching the boys the truly important life skills.
We've also had fun playing jokes today. I plugged up Peter's sippy cup so that he couldn't get his milk out, and Grammy sewed his underwear shut. Grandpa has found plastic bugs in his food and clothes, which elicited quite a lively reaction, to the delight of all the kids.
