Out on the Town

We ventured out to the Museum of Glass (just the outside) and the marina yesterday on the last day of Granny and Grammy's visit. We also had to stop at the Brown & Haley factory outlet, and went to find the observation deck at the Port of Tacoma. Both of them were very interesting, but we didn't take any pictures there.

Watching the trains is always fun!

So is playing in the water. These tiered pools were irresistable for Mathew. It's a wonder he didn't go swimming.

We got to watch a big forklift take a boat out of that huge warehouse in the background and put it in the water.

The boys also found all sorts of other interesting things to occupy their imaginations... :)

While the kids enjoyed a huge (and sometimes wet) concrete playground, the adults enjoyed the kids and the pretty flowers.

We were challenged to keep the kids entertained on an island in the middle of a busy street while we waited for the train. Good thing they had some local artwork to climb on...

Pita!

I've been trying to do some fun cooking with the boys this summer while we aren't officially doing school (of course, cooking is a lot of reading, math, science, but that's beside the point!)

This was our latest adventure - pita bread! I was surprised at how easy and yummy it was, so Here's the recipe - enjoy!

Before and after baking - ours didn't turn out exactly round...

The final result was really good, but I just happened to catch Peter making a really wierd face...

Last hot days in SC

We had a busy week and swam, played in the lake, rode the sled board, skied, and had a peachy time. We stopped and got fresh peach ice cream at the peach stand. We caught lots of fish and ate many ears of fresh corn. Peter went to Boy Scout meetings with Grandpa.

Want to know where Mat is? Just follow the water!

We caught two long nose gar fish.

Sunset on the Lake Murray

Peachy kids

We fed the ospreys a lot of fish.

Water fun

Peter went to Boy Scouts with Grandpa

He learned lots of knots

Great Grandma is 95

Grandma Bunch had a lot of little boys to sing happy birthday good and loud for her 95th birthday.

Very busy days in the HOT! south

Happy 2nd birthday to Mathew!

Riding in the very front of the boat.

Peter had lots of fun with his cousin, swimming and riding the sledboard.

Grandpa and Mat kept the ospreys fed well. We think the eggs have hatched now.

Mathew is quite the little water bug!

Frying the fish we caught

Patrick would give Mathew a big push, then turn around and run so he didn't get hit. Again, and again, and again.

Making another birthday cake - this one's for GGMa tonight.
